About
Hi, I'm Makenzie! A Little Bit About Me
With a background in the corporate world, I understand how hectic and demanding everyday life can be. That perspective has shaped how I approach dog training: it needs to be practical, effective, and something that fits into your real life—not just your ideal schedule.
To me, dog training goes far beyond teaching obedience. It’s about building a relationship grounded in trust, communication, and mutual respect. I use science-based methods rooted in classical and operant conditioning, always adapting my approach to the unique needs of each dog and family I work with.
To build the strongest foundation possible, I’ve gained hands-on experience working within several well-regarded dog training businesses. I've had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of breeds—from the tiniest to the largest—each with their own personalities, needs, and challenges. I’ve taken the initiative to study under respected professionals and actively network with others in the field—continually expanding my knowledge, refining my techniques, and staying current with industry best practices. This has equipped me with a well-rounded and practical approach that I bring to every session.
I’m a firm believer that great trainers never stop learning. I continue to invest in my growth to ensure I’m always delivering the highest quality guidance and support.
When I'm not working with clients, I'm usually out in the woods on off-leash adventures, swimming, or traveling with my pack. I also actively train and compete in the Protection Sports Association (PSA) with Faye and Kozzy—my greatest teachers and favourite teammates.
Let’s work together to unlock your dog’s full potential and help you build a stronger, more connected and well-structured relationship with them.
